On Sunday November 1st at 6:30 p.m. 34 motorcycle riders from across the island converged on Waimea Canyon Park to kick off the 1st Annual Kokee Moonlight Ride. After an hour of registration, photo shots and safety reminders, 24 motorcycles roared up to Kokee Park.
Road Captain Rocky Ruiz led the caravan up the moonlit mountainside, leading them in single-file. All riders and passengers arrived safely in the pavilion area of Kokee. Having arrived at 8:30 p.m., the riders were greeted by volunteers and staff from Life’s Bridges, who graciously provided participants with warm drinks and numerous snacks, including cocoa, coffee, cookies, brownies ,and candy.
Some beautiful group photos were taken, thanks to Larry Gaines, H.O.G. Club Photographer. The Club director, Roy Asher, welcomed all and introduced Gina Kaulukukui, Program Director of Life’s Bridges.
Gina detailed the history and development of Life’s Bridges, focusing especially on the past two years, during which time this organization has become an independent, stand-alone group of volunteers. Their primary task is serving survivors of sudden or unexpected deaths through providing valuable counseling and support.
Our Garden Island H.O.G. Club is proud to announce that all proceeds from the 1st Annual Kokee Moonlight Ride, will go to support Life’s Bridges and their invaluable community service to all Kauai.
